The job descriptions is as follows:
Vista Del Mar is seeking a Program Director to build a state of the art program designed to maximize the potential of children in the autism spectrum. This candidate will oversee currently established services, be available as a resource to our school programs and build additional Family Centered services to support ASD and PDD populations.
This candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage staff, develop strategic objectives, manage the program budget understand funding resources, contracts and development opportunities. This position requires the ability to market and team with community partners on behalf of this center and its’ programs. The candidate will be creative and entrepreneurial with the ability to speak publicly, be an external presence and advocate, to build partnerships, establish relationships with funders and political leaders on behalf of ASD children and families.
The successful candidate will be a Licensed Psychologist or L.C.S.W. or MFT with a minimum of 5 years experience, 2 of which will have been in administration. This candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills; have the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, have experience with public relations, and fundraising with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures. Vista is looking for an administrator who is mission-driven and self-directed with a passion and idealism to engage the community and support the agency.

Workshop 1A: D.I.R./Floor Time: A Developmental Relational Approach to Play Therapy with Children Impacted by Autism
Presenter: Esther B. Hess Ph.D
Workshop Description:
This presentation offers a theoretical and practical approach to play therapy with children impacted by autism utilizing a developmental/relational approach, D.I.R./Floor Time as designed by Drs. Stanley Greenspan and Serena Weider.
Learning Objectives:
Following the workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Describe indications of sensory and processing challenges in the play of children impacted by autism.
2. Describe the basic underlying concepts of play techniques to facilitate emotional regulation and expression in children impacted by autism.
3. List common parent-child issues for children with developmental delays such as autism.
4. Describe the basic underlying concepts of play techniques to facilitate positive self-esteem in children with sensory and processing challenges commonly associated with autism.
Instructional Level: Introductory/Intermediate
Who should attend?
Play Therapists, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, School Counselors, Psychologists, Students, and Interns.
Continuing Education:
This workshop meets the qualifications for 6 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and LCSWs per day a required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider # PCE 1007). CALAPT is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Psychologists may receive 6 hours of continuing education credit per day for this workshop. Six hours of continuing education are offered on Saturday as required by the Association for Play Therapy (APT). The California Association for Play Therapy (CALAPT) is approved by APT to offer continuing education specific to play therapy (Provider # 00-094). CALAPT maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Partial credit (fewer than 6CEs) is not available for this workshop.

Requests for refunds must be made in writing to the CALAPT Treasurer, Colleen Sebastian, PO Box 597 Pismo Beach, CA 93448. Requests must be postmarked no later than two weeks prior to the workshop date in order to receive refund. There is a $25.00 administrative fee for refunds. There are no price breaks for partial attendance.

UCLA RESEARCH STUDY

Two Sisters Quilts

This is the website where the quilts can be viewed. There has been overwhelming support from the WOSEP community and the sisters are very grateful. The teacher is undergoing a mastectomy early next month. Following that will be the chemo. Through it all her biggest concern is for her students who can't understand why she isn't there with them every day.
The quilts will also be available at the next tea to be held on the first Sunday in May. Linda Andron is the sponsor and more details will be posted to WOSEP as soon as they are confirmed.
